Everything You Need To Know About CoolSculpting in Draper, Utah
CoolSculpting is a relatively new fat elimination procedure that aims to eliminate stubborn fat on the body by freezing it. The process is known as cryolipolysis, and it was created after scientists studied what happens to fat during frostbite.
CoolSculpting might seem like a non-traditional way to get rid of some stubborn fat pockets, but it is actually a very effective option for many of our clients. If you are curious about eliminating stubborn fat using cool sculpting, keep reading to learn everything you need to know.
What Is CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is a cosmetic fat elimination procedure, one of several signature services we have at La Belle Vie Medical Spa in Draper. This non-invasive fat reduction procedure is the first one that’s been FDA-approved to improve the appearance of relaxed tissue and reduce fat. CoolSculpting was initially designed to reduce double chins, but it has now extended to many other areas of the body.
How Does CoolSculpting Work?
CoolSculpting doesn’t use any surgical tools or needles as it is an entirely non-invasive procedure. Instead, a small device holds the targeted fat area between two paddles. Then, the paddles cool to around 38 to 40 degrees. They are left on for between 35 to 75 minutes. This chills the fat cells until they are damaged, which is precisely what it’s supposed to do.
The process kills between 20 and 25-percent of the fat cells in the area, which is a significant reduction. The dead cells are eliminated slowly and naturally through your body’s natural metabolism, so you may not see results for a few months.
Can I Get CoolSculpting on Any Fatty Area?
CoolSculpting was initially designed as a solution to reduce a double chin. However, CoolSculpting’s benefits have since extended to many other parts of the body, including small and large areas of fat. Some of the smaller regions include your chin and fat around your bra, chest, and knees. Larger areas include your arms, upper or lower back, love handles, gluteal fold, upper and lower abs, and inner and outer thighs.

What Should I Expect During a CoolSculpting Appointment?
During your first CoolSculpting treatment, your clinician will explain what to expect during the procedure and inform you about any potential risks. Then, they will get started by placing the CoolSculpting applicator directly against the treatment area.
The device uses suction technology to gently pull the targeted area of fat up between the two panels that we mentioned earlier. Then they will begin to cool down. Depending on the treatment area, they will be left in place for a set period of time.
What Should I Expect After a CoolSculpting Appointment?
After the appointment, your clinician will likely massage the targeted area for a few minutes, as it will be completely numb by this point (you should feel some tingling). After that, you will be free to leave your appointment and return to normal activities, as no downtime is needed for CoolSculpting treatments.
Are There Complications To CoolSculpting?
Some patients will have temporary redness, irritation, bruising, swelling, or tenderness in the treated area. This is normal and will generally go away within a few days. Some soreness will likely occur in the days following. Many people describe it as the feeling you get after a rigorous workout.
In rare situations, cryolipolysis treatments can cause moderate to severe pain, and you can be at risk for nerve pain. Additionally, there is a minimal risk of paradoxical fat hyperplasia. This is a condition where fat cells increase instead of decrease after treatment. However, this only happens in less than one percent of cases.
How Much Does CoolSculpting Cost?
At La Belle Vie, we have many different treatment options for CoolSculpting depending on the area you want to target, the size of your target area(s), and the number of sessions you will need.
Please contact us for a free consultation. We have many incredible offers to help you save money on Coolscupting as you work toward a lean and toned figure. We also have monthly specials and financing!
How Long Does CoolSculpting Last?
CoolSculpting is a permanent procedure! After the cooling procedure targets the fat cells, they are forever gone. It may take a few months to see your full results, but the fat eliminated during a CoolSculpting procedure will be gone permanently.
How Many CoolSculpting Sessions Do I Need?
Everyone’s body is different, and the desired treatment area(s) you want to target during a CoolSculpting procedure will determine how many treatments you ultimately need.
There is no one-size-fits-all for CoolSculpting, so while some people might only need one treatment to see results, others might require two or three sessions. Additionally, if you want to target multiple areas of the body rather than just one, this will require additional sessions.
Who Is a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment, and you should not invest in CoolSculpting if significant weight loss is your ultimate goal. On the other hand, you’re a candidate for CoolSculpting if you have tried a dedicated diet and exercise but cannot eliminate those last areas of stubborn fat.
Additionally, you should avoid CoolSculpting if you have loose skin, poor skin tone, are pregnant or nursing, can’t handle cold temperatures, or if you are obese. There are also a few rare conditions where you should avoid CoolSculpting entirely. These include Raynaud’s, Cryoglobulinemia, cold urticaria, and Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria.
Should I Get CoolSculpting?
CoolSculpting is an excellent option for those who have tried traditional diet and exercise but still cannot eliminate those stubborn pockets of fat. Additionally, some people may be insecure about their double chin or love handles regardless of their size. If this sounds like you, investing in CoolSculpting is the perfect safe and effective option!
Does La Belle Vie Offer Other Treatments To Eliminate Fat?
Yes, you can reduce and tighten your double chin with Kybella injections. These injections help the body naturally absorb and destroy fat cells under the chin. It’s a 20-minute procedure that will help slowly melt that stubborn double chin and help you look and feel younger!
