Laser Hair Removal—Permanent and (Practically) Pain Free
Waxing, plucking, and shaving hair can be costly, irritating, and time-consuming. If you’re not happy with these traditional methods of removing unwanted hair, there are other solutions to hair removal. Laser hair removal treatments are a solution worth considering if you are looking for a more permanent option. In the U.S., it is among the most commonly performed, safe, and effective cosmetic procedures. Lasers can remove unwanted hair from the legs, face, chin, arms, underarms, bikini line, back, and other areas.
The laser hair removal process involves projecting highly-concentrated beams of light energy into hair follicles. The pigment within the follicles absorbs the light—thus, destroying the hair.
This month at la belle vie, we’ve got another round of money-saving deals for you, and guess what? Laser hair removal is on that list. You can get 50% off laser hair removal memberships and 20% off paid-in-full and half-body memberships! That’s a steal!
Pros of Laser Hair Removal Treatment
Predictable permanent results: On average, most people experience permanent hair loss after receiving three to eight sessions. Hair may appear finer and less noticeable after a single treatment, but a series of treatments is essential for optimal results.
Precision. Lasers can precisely target dark or coarse hairs without causing damage to the surrounding skin.
Speed. Laser pulses each take a fraction of a second and can treat many hairs simultaneously. For example, a laser can treat an area of approximately one square inch every second. As a result, small areas such as brows or the upper lip could be treated in less than sixty seconds, while larger areas, like the legs or back, can usually be treated in less than an hour.
Will Laser Hair Removal Treatment Work for You?
In the past, hair color and skin tone could significantly impact the effect of laser hair treatments. Since lasers target pigment, hair with intense pigment has previously been the most ideal for this procedure.
The most current lasers, such as the Hair-Free™ laser hair removal system used at La Belle Vie, can successfully destroy the hair follicles of all skin and hair types. This revolutionary, breakthrough laser technology has made experiencing the benefits of this safe and painless procedure an accessible option for many more people.
Laser hair removal treatment with the Hair-Free™ system is safe for all hair and skin types and most hair colors. Best of all, you can experience effective permanent hair removal with absolutely no downtime.

What You Should Expect From Laser Hair Removal
Laser energy from an advanced infrared diode gradually heats hair follicles from within the sub-dermal layer of skin. This specialized process, combined with a patented Dual-Chill™ treatment tip, keeps the skin’s surface cool, creating a laser hair removal treatment that is comfortable with permanent results you will love.
Most people tolerate this treatment well, though some may experience minor discomfort. The sensation is described as feeling similar to snapping a rubber band against one’s skin.
Body parts with thinner skin, such as the upper lip, may feel more discomfort, while other areas with thicker skin, such as the arms, may feel nothing at all.
Applying a topical anesthetic before treatment can help manage any discomfort. In addition, patients may take an over-the-counter pain relief medication thirty minutes before your appointment as long as it is safe for them to do so.
The length of each session can vary depending upon what body surface you are having treated. Eye protection is provided to wear during any facial laser treatments.
You may use ice packs or cold compresses to soothe any redness or irritation after the procedure. Some clients describe their after-effects to feel like a mild sunburn. Any minor side effects should disappear within a few hours or at most a couple of days.
Your laser hair removal should be completed in a series of 4 – 6 treatments between 2 and 10 weeks apart. This schedule allows the most effective treatment and removal of hair throughout the different stages of growth. In between initial treatments, you may notice hair growing much finer and sparser.
There is no opportunity for ingrown hairs to occur with this safe procedure, as might be experienced with waxing. Once your series of treatments are finished, you can expect complete removal or a highly substantial reduction of hair.
Preparing for Your Laser Hair Removal Treatment
The treatment area must be shaved entirely within 48 hours before the treatment. This is so the laser’s energy may target the hair follicle instead of being wasted on the hair above the skin’s surface.
Six weeks before your initial treatment, you should not epilate, wax or remove hair at the root by any other method nor throughout your series of treatments. Shaving should be the only recommended method of hair removal between sessions.
The hair needs to be in place (root in the follicle) to target the laser. A laser can singe unshaved hairs resulting in burned skin. Shaving with an electric razor is not recommended as they typically leave the hair too long.
The treatment areas should be free from lotion, cosmetics, sunscreen, and deodorant. You can request wipes from your practitioner before treatment if needed.
Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds within two weeks before each treatment. Also, self-tanning products, including spray tans, should be avoided 3-4 weeks before each treatment. If you do forget and use a self-tanning product, you should thoroughly exfoliate the treatment area to remove any residue.
- Keep any treated area dry and clean for 48 hours post-treatment.
- Apply aloe vera gel for three days post-treatment.
- Avoid friction in the treated area. Wear loose clothing.
- Cleanse gently with mild soap. Pat dry, do not rub the treated area for 48 hours.
- Avoid lotions, moisturizers, makeup, and deodorant for the first 24 hours.
- Dead hairs will begin to shed between 5-30 days post-treatment.
- Stubble will appear within 5-30 days of the treatment date- this is normal and will clear quickly.
- Exfoliate with a washcloth to speed up hair shedding.
- Avoid prolonged sun exposure for two months post-treatment.
