What Is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a skincare procedure where a chemical solution is used to remove the top layers of the skin. The goal is for the skin that grows back over the removed layers to be softer, brighter, and more youthful. Sometimes, you will need to undergo a light or medium-level peel multiple times to get the desired results. However, chemical peels are highly versatile! They can be used to treat wrinkles, dark marks, acne scars, discoloration, and more!

What Are the Different Types of Chemical Peels?

Depending on the spa you go to and your esthetician’s specialty, many different types of chemical peels are available worldwide. However, at La Belle Vie, we offer seven different types. Each of these chemical peels has vastly different benefits, treatment goals, and recovery times, so be sure to read through each writeup carefully before choosing one for your future appointment.

If you want more in-depth information about any of the chemical peels listed below, call our office to schedule a consultation for your skin!

Age-Defying Peel

An age-defying chemical peel aims to purge your skin of all its impurities, rebalancing clogged, congested skin and revealing layers of clear, glowing skin underneath. This is the chemical peel for you if you have dull, dehydrated, or acne-prone skin. Additionally, consider an age-defying peel if you have and want to invest in preventative skin care. The benefits of an age-defying peel include brightening and tightening of the skin, increased hydration, reduction of fine lines and softening of wrinkles, reduced pigmentation, and increased skin firmness. An age-defying peel costs $125.

Clear Enhanced Peel

A clear enhanced peel is our lightest level TCA peel, designed to purge your impurities and rebalance your skin’s complexion. Again, this chemical peel is perfect for unclogging skin that feels congested. If you have never had a chemical peel before, this is an excellent peel to start with. And it is ideal for those with photo-damaged skin, hyperpigmentation, fine lines, and/or wrinkles. Some of the benefits of this treatment include brightening and tightening the skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, increasing skin’s firmness and elasticity, reducing dull and uneven texture, reducing redness, and anti-aging. A clear enhanced peel costs $125.

Vitamin A Peel

A Vitamin A Peel is the perfect peel for improving fine lines, reducing the appearance of wrinkles, and improving hyperpigmentation. This chemical peel is a more substantial exfoliating treatment, blending TCA, glycolic acid, and retinol. This peel is perfect for you if you have textured skin, dark marks, and hyperpigmentation. Some of the benefits of this chemical peel include brightening and tightening the skin, minimizing the appearance of pores and fine lines, reducing pigmentation, increasing firmness and elasticity, and more! A Vitamin A Peel costs $299.

Acne Power Treatment

Chemical Peels at La Belle Vie

An Acne Power Treatment is one of this list’s more in-depth chemical peel options. The treatment begins with a double skin cleansing, followed by a mask that deeply cleanses the pores. An esthetician will then do extractions on your skin to remove any blackheads or blemishes before applying the actual peel. This peel will help to solve any acne issues and keep problematic skin free of any breakouts in the future. This treatment is only suitable for acne-prone skin, and it is recommended that you repeat the treatment three to six times every four weeks for the best results. The acne power treatment costs $299. We recommend you book a consultation to determine if you are a good candidate for this treatment.

TCA Peel

A TCA peel is a noninvasive chemical peel that gets its name from trichloroacetic acid (TCA). TCA effectively removes dead or damaged skin cells to reveal fresh, youthful skin below. TCA peels are great for minimizing the appearance of large pores and reducing hyperpigmentation or uneven texture. TCA peels also stimulate the production of new collagen to help your skin feel more vibrant and bouncy. Some of the benefits of this peel include reducing brown spots or age spots, improving the texture of leathery skin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and reducing the appearance of certain types of acne. A TCA peel costs between $199 and $299.

Chocolate Power Peel

A chocolate power peel is a chemical peel designed to immediately revitalize and resuscitate damaged, tired skin. The peel is packed with antioxidants, resveratrol, and cocoa to create a highly refined, anti-aging, and complexion-restoring treatment while boosting collagen production and encouraging healthy skin cells. If you want to improve your skin’s elasticity, tone, and moisture, this peel is perfect!

PQ Age Evolution

PQ Age Evolution peels are designed to give you all the traditional benefits of a chemical peel without any of the potentially irritating side effects (burning, itching, irritation, or discomfort). Instead, a highly delicate and gentle massaging treatment is used to apply this chemical peel, which immediately relaxes any wrinkles and gives your skin a much brighter appearance. The chemical compound is composed of high levels of TCA blended with Kojic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Coenzyme Q10, and other liposomal growth factors. A PQ Age Evolution peel is available in a series of four treatments for $1200.
