CoolSculpting for Love Handles

What is CoolSculpting?

How Does CoolSculpting Work?
Men and women who opt for CoolSculpting at La Belle Vie Medical Care in Draper will come to our office for about an hour for the procedure. One of our skilled practitioners will apply a protective gel to the area you want to be treated. Then, he or she will use an FDA-approved device (like a wand) that pulls fat toward the skin like a vacuum. The device deep freezes the fat cells in a targeted area, essentially killing them forever.
After the CoolSculpting treatment, we immediately perform a deep massage to help mobilize the now-dead fat cells and improve lymphatic drainage. Over the next few weeks, those fat cells die and are eliminated by the body’s normal processes. By the time three or four months have passed, you can expect stunning results.
Because CoolSculpting is non-invasive, you can get right back to your regular activities. No need to recover at home. Head back to the office, the gym, or whatever you had planned. While some patients experience redness, numbness, or bruising, this is typically a mild side effect that goes away quickly.
Does CoolSculpting Hurt?
Not really. Some patients experience mild pinching, tugging, cooling, or tingling sensations at the site where the work is being performed. Most guys say it’s pretty painless. Some of our patients even read a book or do some work on their tablets during the procedure.
Will I Look Better Right Away?
Probably not immediately, although you might feel better knowing that every day you are getting closer to the body you really want. For most men, results start to show around three weeks after the treatment, with the most noticeable results happening around the two-month mark.
Can I Get More Than One Area Treated at the Same Time?
Absolutely! Many men opt to have multiple areas of stubborn fat treated on the same day, thus eliminating the need for several different appointments.
Will I Need More Than One CoolSculpting Treatment?
That depends. Since everyone is different, it’s hard to say. For example, some men might be happy by eliminating a little bit of unwanted fat under the chin, while other guys are going for dramatic, whole-body results. Most patients are usually somewhere in between these two extremes. Depending on your goals, you may require two to three sessions to achieve the look you desire.

Does CoolSculpting Reduce Your Weight?
Not really. Losing weight is a more drastic approach to getting rid of overall fat, whereas CoolSculpting spot-reduces fatty areas. It decreases the number of fat cells in the area being treated by around 20 to 25 percent. Although you won’t see any significant difference on the scale, your clothes (and your mirror) will tell a different story.
How Much Does CoolSculpting Cost?
Your costs will vary depending on the area you want to be treated and the number of treatments you decide on. A larger area like the thighs will generally be more costly than a small area under the chin.
