Our Annual Holiday Event
This month at La Belle Vie, we kick off the season with our two-day annual holiday event, November 9-10th! This is our seventh year holding the event, and although we need to do it virtually again this year, we don’t want you to miss a single thing. Here’s the scoop:
November 9th:

IPS for Sunspots
If you’ve been noticing dark spots or skin discoloration as you get older, you’re not alone. In fact, this condition—called melasma—affects at least five million people in the US. You can remedy some types of dark spots (such as hyperpigmentation) with ointments or creams. However, melasma doesn’t always respond that well to topical treatments.
At La Belle Vie, one solution we use for unwanted age spots is IPL, which stands for Intense Pulsed Light. This effective procedure uses light energy to target dark patches or spots on the face. Here are a few quick facts about the treatment:
• IPL is not a laser. It’s actually a high-intensity light that uses different wavelengths to address various skin conditions.
• IPL works best on lighter skin tones since light-skinned people have more contrast between the color of their skin and the pigments that cause discoloration.
• There is no downtime with IPL. Treatment generally takes less than 30 minutes, and you can get right back to whatever you were doing.
• With IPL, you may need more than one session. However, you will notice an improvement every time you come in for a treatment.
• Although there can be mild discomfort with IPL (stinging or burning sensations), most patients tolerate the procedure very well.
