Stress Urinary Incontinence

Urinary stress incontinence is the loss of bladder control caused by weak muscles. When you have leakage from sneezing, coughing, lifting a heavy objects or intense exercises like jumping rope, the muscles that keep your bladder tight and closed have weakened. This can happen from being overweight, having large or multiple babies, or aging and menopause. Survivors of breast cancer that cannot take hormones are sometimes also affected.

It becomes more of a problem as women age. Unfortunately, women are more prone to urinary incontinence than men are. Treatment depends on the type of problem you have. Treatments for urinary stress incontinence consisted of Kegels or pelvic floor exercises, special devices, or surgery—Until Now!
